Arlésiennes, the women of Arles delight in wearing the sumptuous costume originating around the mid-18th century; it is in this attire that the fashion designer Christian Lacroix found his inspiration. During the costume festival on the first Sunday of July, the Arlésiennes don their finest outfits.
